Warranty Coverage

1-5 Year Repair Warranty

All of our projects are backed by a one-five-year Lionsgate Warranty which covers materials and labour on the interior of your home. To submit a service request under the one-five year warranty please refer to the Service Procedure outlined in the homeowner manual. All Warranty is subject to the Project Contract.

2-5-10 New Home Warranty

The New Homebuyer Protection Act ensures that all new homes have a minimum level of protection against defects. The insurance contract must stipulate the following coverages.

1-year Material & Labour Warranty

First 12 months – Coverage for any defect in materials and labour.

2-year Material & Labour Warranty

First 24 months - Coverage for any defect in materials and labour related to delivery and distribution systems (electrical, plumbing, gas, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning).
5-Year Building Envelope Warranty - Coverage for up to 5 years for defects in the building envelope of a new home, including a defect that permits unintended water penetration such that it causes, or is likely to cause, material damage to the new home. In addition, coverage for any defect in materials and labour supplied for the exterior cladding, caulking, windows and doors that may lead to detachment or material damage to the new home. Homeowners have the option to extend coverage for up to an additional 2 years.

10 Year Structural Defects Warranty

Coverage for structural defects for up to 10 years for any defect in materials and labour that results in the failure of a load-bearing part of the new home. A defect that causes structural damage that materially and adversely affects the use of the new home for residential occupancy.

2-5 Building Envelope Renovation Warranty

Travelers Canada provides the legislated 2-5 Year Home Warranty coverage for larger products being repaired by fully qualified building envelope renovation contractors under the guidance of professional and knowledgeable building envelope consultants.

Our warranty products are competitive, and we have established a roster of building envelope consultants who have the proper expertise and who carry professional liability insurance. Only those building envelope renovators who have met the stringent underwriting criteria and who are bondable are approved members of Travelers Canada.
